Carolina Championship at Kiawah

Next weekend February 18-19 the IJGT will have its first Major of the spring season. For The Carolina Championship at Kiawah the students will play Turtle Point and Ocean Course, host of the 2012 PGA Championship. This week it will be two holes being featured, one on each course and the holes being featured are hole No. 15 on Turtle Point and on Ocean it will be hole No. 16.

Turtle Point No. 15

For this challenging hole the wind is usually blowing in the player's face or coming from the left. The challenge on this hole is the green where it breaks heavily towards the ocean.

 

 

Ocean Course No. 16

"A straight-away par-5, No. 16 will require the player to carry his drive over a pond to reach a terraced fairway that is higher to the right side. A long, shallow waste bunker guards the second shot to the right, with another waste bunker, this one much deeper, guarding the left side of the green which is perched high on a dune ridge."
