Kemps Climbs up the Leaderboard in Photographic Hole Challenge

Inokawa Keeps Impressing

Kemps Rises to the Top of Leaderboard

This past weekend the International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) held its third event of the season when The Club at Savannah Harbor was the host for the Georgia Open. Wet and windy conditions played a factor when the 62 Academy Students were challenged on the 550 yard long par 5.

Shosei Inokawa (Atamishi, Japan), Boys 15-19 Division Champion of The Georgia Open, continues his consistent play this season. After being top-three in the past three events it is no surprise that he has been successful in the Photographic Hole Challenge. After making two pars he is at 11 points to keep a comfortable lead by 3 points.

Competing in his third event for the season, Matt Kemps (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) has made a chase for the lead. During his past three events he has been consistent by making pars and birdies and this weekend was no different. He made a birdie and par each day to give him 3 points to be at a total of 8 points and is currently tied for second place with Cole Ray (Raleigh, N.C.).

Tied for fourth place at 7 points is Chris Magi (Montreal, Canada), Ana Ruiz (Chihuahua, Mexico) and Masato Yoshitsugu (Aichi, Japan). The top performers this weekend after making a birdie and a par each day were Mickey Werenski (South Hadley, Mass.), Lohith Ramaraju (London, England), Chris Magi (Montreal, Canada), Mason Kincaid (Essex, England) and James Grigjanis-Meusel (Niagara on the Lake, Canada).

Next event coming up is The Carolina Championship at Kiawah Resort February 17-19 where there will be two holes featured. The Photographic Hole of the Week will be announced on the week prior to the event.
